a.) Kindle Fire $199
b.) Kindle Touch $99
c.) Kindle Touch no 3G $139
FYI: The sales model is now they advertise a price for the Kindle but that price includes advertisements. You can pay $40 extra and not be bothered by ads!
- The Kindle Fire has the most 'horsepower' and best screen but lacks 3G capabilities. Amazon pays for the 3G so there is no extra cost (unlike Apple). The bottom of the line model's screen we think is too small.
- The Kindle Touch has a bigger screen and comes with the 3G feature. We don't like the Keyboard model as it adds bulk and another moving part subject to breakage.
- This leaves the Kindle Touch 3G which is $189 for a version that does not show ads or $139 for a version without 3G and without Ads. You must ask yourself if you think 3G is worth $50? We don't think so, and answer is No.
