You’ve watched those home improvement shows and thought, “I could do better than that! And I haven’t taken any Interior Design Class.” You dream of a career as an interior designer or decorator. Or maybe you’d rather go into set or lighting design. With a degree from an Interior Design School your dream can come true. Your Interior Design Class schedule will include classes in interior design style, interior decorating, interior decoration design, interior architecture, home and residential interior design and architecture, commercial interior design and architecture, furniture design, color and lighting, history of design and more. As a graduate of the BFA program, your Interior Design School classes will prepare you to meet rigorous criteria, enabling you to find a rewarding and challenging career in the industry. You will produce a professional portfolio, preparing you to enter the work force, gain the knowledge and experience to plan residential and commercial spaces, and carry a project through schematic design, design development and final presentations, and create accurate perspective drawings both with and without color. You will also learn to quickly sketch concepts, draw design intentions accurately, including materials and colors, and use a computer to render digital images. You will gain valuable drafting skills and a complete understanding of the use of color as it applies to design. Additionally, students learn valuable business skills including organization and project management skills, understanding industry practices, communication and presentation skills and research and problem solving.
