A three-year, £ 10 million initiative funded by charitable trusts, the business sector and the government of Great Britain focuses on Reading Recovery as a key strategy to make Every Child a Reader.  
Every Child a Reader: the results of the first year… reports that children who received Reading Recovery lessons made on average a gain of 21 months in reading age in just 4 to 5 months while lowest achieving children in schools with other early interventions fell further behind their peers.
